Rabbi Max N. Schreier
Rabbi Schreier is one of the leading Orthodox rabbis in the United States. He is currently Senior Rabbi of our Shul.
For over fifty years, Rabbi Schreier has been Rabbi of The Avenue N Jewish Center in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to his effective service to the congregation, Rabbi Schreier has provided leadership to the local community, the city-wide community and the national Jewish scene.
After receiving his smicha at Yeshivas Rabeinu Yitzchak Elchanan, he served Beth Sholom Congregation in Rochester. There, he became the secretary of the upstate region of Mizrachi. The Rabbi then served Congregation Ahavath Achim in Bridgeport, Connecticut and was instrumental in building a new synagogue in Fairfield, Connecticut. He also founded the Hillel Academy, a day school. He served as co – president of the Mizrachi in Bridgeport.
He has served as president of the Rabbinical Board of Flatbush, as president of the Rabbinic alumni of Yeshiva University, and as president of the Rabbinical Council of America.
He was honored by Yeshiva University with a Doctor of Divinity degree, and continues his support as the chairman of the Rabbinic Cabinet for Rabbinic Alumni.
He served as vice-president of the Jewish National Fund, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of JNF.
Rabbi Schreier is a vice-president of RZA, and addressed audiences for Mizrachi throughout the United States, Canada, and Israel. He has been a delegate to four World Zionist Congresses and participated in a number of world conferences of Mizrachi.
He was honored by the Orthodox Union with the National Rabbinic Leadership Award, and is a member of the Orthodox Union’s Board of Directors.
